The last time I went in the man who helped me was honestly rude and tried to make me feel like an idiot. I went in for coolant, when I told him I had a small leak that I'm getting fixed after the 1st of the year he told me I'd need 4 bottles to get me through "and even that won't be enough" I told him no, I am good with just 1 bottle and if I need more I'll come back and get more. He told me he's been working with cars for a while and I should really take his advice. I told him thanks but no thanks, I'm happy with one bottle and he told me I'd regret that.
He asked me the make/model/year of my car. When I told him it's 2012, he went to the door to look at the car and told me he's sure that it's a 2016. I told him no, I know what my car is it's a 2012 and he told me "if you think so but you'll be using the wrong coolant" I told him I'll take my chances.
He eventually got the coolant for me, I paid for it and before I left I asked him if he's been working on cars for so long, would he be willing to help me fill my coolant reservoir because I had never done it before and I just wanted to make sure I did it right. His answer? He laughed at me and said, "Do I look like a mechanic?" I smiled at him and told him I'd like to get his name. He told me it wasn't important and to have a great day.
I went to my regular mechanic to fill the coolant, as always they were extremely nice, showed me how to do it myself, put it on the lift and took a quick look at the leak and told me what I already knew, there's a leak, but it's really not that bad. I definitely need to get it fixed, but it's not a pressing matter like the guy at auto zone tried to make it sound. "Just check your reservoir every 2-3 days and fill it as needed. Call me after the 1st, and I'll fix it the same day I do your inspection."
I have been to this location before, and I had previously given a 4 star rating, mainly because of a female and an older gentleman working there who where nothing but nice and helpful every time I went in, but this last time in truly put a sour taste in my mouth.
I felt the staff member I bought the battery at the store from was dismissive and rude. I was told over the phone by someone else that I could get a battery for $190 that would last 5yrs. I told the man at the store this and he practically cut me off saying that was absolutely wrong. No apology or acknowledgment that I was given misinformation. When he convinced me to buy a more expensive battery, I asked if someone could install it. Told me they don't do that, but when I said the person on the phone had said they did it for free, his story changed slightly and he muttered something about being understaffed and if I had come earlier (I had called about 1-2 hours prior to visiting) when he had had five people sitting around doing nothing then I could have had it installed. But since I had come at 6:30pm (I guess I was supposed to know that on a Thursday night the Autozone in Danvers would be apparently too busy to perform a five minute service that they literally do offer?), he only had two people left doing everything. There were maybe three customers in the store including me. Also said I could come back tomorrow. I don't live nearby and that made no sense to me as I was there at the store and again battery installation shouldn't take more than 5min. How is it my responsibility to know when you are or are not staffed adequately and when you have too many customers to perform this service? No apology throughout the whole thing and barely made eye contact, and I strongly suspect if I wasn't a young woman I wouldn't have been treated this way. I asked for the free installation because a) it is a service they offer and b) I had already been given a quote from an auto shop earlier that day that my car needed $600+ in replacement parts and maintenance for its 90k mile checkup, so I had already had a stressful day and was looking for a break, and was why I was shopping around for a battery. The auto shop quoted me a battery for $210 which is why I wanted the $190 one, but then being given different information upon arriving and being upsold to the next model up, I ended up paying more. I returned the next day and returned the battery and was able to get a cheaper battery installed by a very friendly and respectful man from AAA right at home. Just felt pretty disrespected overall. Staff member was a shorter middle aged man with pepper grey hair, I didn't catch his name but am guessing he was a manager based on the way he mentioned staffing.
Driving to Florida ( Mom ) went to AutoZone! Danvers Ma. Only place you need to go!! Staff us Amazing! Prices Hard To Beat!! Armando.. Asst Manager comes to your aid in the Blink of an eye.. Needed floor mats. Armando, without hesitation, came right out,cut to fit my car.. Gotta Love that find of Service and Dedication!! Thanks Again.. Highly Recommend!!
I like this AutoZone... They have a consistent staff, so they start to recognise ya and it starts to have that neighborhood feel to the store..
Theres an older guy there, I wish I knew his name, because Id give him a shoutout! He's very helpful with finding me any product that I go in looking for and patient when it comes to all my coupons and giftcards.. :)
I wish AutoZone sent out more coupons to thier regulars but thats not on the store, thats on the corporation..
Anyways, great store!
There are many auto parts stores in this area, including a competitor right across the street. Out of all of them, this AutoZone is my go-to for all my auto parts needs.
They have a large selection of in-stock inventory, the staff is friendly and they normally have at least one staff member who has detailed knowle in automotive needs. If I need something that is not in stock, they're usually able to get it in the store fairly quickly (1-2 days).
They also offer tool rental (for a small fee) and free diagnostics.
I do most of the work on our personal cars and trucks and this AutoZone supplies virtually all of my parts & sometimes the tools.
I would recommend this AutoZone for automotive parts & accessories needs for this general region.
My engine light was on. I had watched the commercials on TV that they would diagnose the problem for free. When I got there and told them that my engine light was on they handed me a machine and told me to plug it in under the dash board. I am disabled ,I walk with a cane it is rather obvious that I can not lay on my back or bend over to plug a machine in or understand how to operate the machine. SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. 0 STARS!
I had a young man, Paco help me find new wipers for my car. Then after I purchased them, he went way above and beyond and offered to help me put them on. I would have struggled through youtube videos trying to figure it out and he did it in 5 minutes. Awesome service!
Training is nil....put you on hold perpetually....rude in house. This is about the most unpleasant place on the planet to deal with.
